A friend from the very beginning

Since the beginning of 2021, 16 Buddies in Italy have been welcoming new colleagues on their first day as part of the company.

All of them represent the Group's style and values, displaying empathy, passion and professionalism to give the new colleagues an immediate feeling of belonging.

But what do our Buddies do exactly?

  • They welcome the newcomers and present them with the Welcome Kit;
  • They accompany the onboardees on a dedicated company tour;
  • They immediately set themselves up as a point of reference, helping new colleagues to quickly find their feet and feel familiar with the Group.

The Buddy programme was also created with the intention of creating shared memories and networking opportunities within our community, which is why the Buddy is never a direct team member but a colleague from an entirely different department.

"Every time I welcome a new employee, I think back to my first day in the company and the strong emotions I felt. I try to be empathetic, tell them about my experience and make it clear to them that we've all been there.

 

I like the idea of being able to help them on such a landmark day. Everyone has a story to tell and it’s nice to start writing a new chapter together, so it's a great thing to be a part of!"

"A few days before joining the company, I received a message from my Buddy which was reassuring and made me feel part of a big family, even before I physically showed up at the office.

 

The first day after being hired, I went to an Intimissimi shop to make my first purchases as an employee and at the checkout counter I bumped into Alice. What a nice coincidence!"

"I'm proud to be a Buddy because it means I have the privilege and also the responsibility of being the first to "open" the company doors. Being a Buddy brings out my more empathetic side, which helps the new colleague feel at ease from the start.
